1. Packaging and insurance standards
Originals are fragile and high-value, so sellers must ship to our standards. Every shipment must be:
- Packed to protect against impact, moisture, and pressure, using rigid materials appropriate to the medium (corner protection, glassine for surfaces, double-boxing or a crate for larger works).
- Fully insured for the sale value while in transit.
- Sent with a tracked service so progress is visible to the buyer and to us.
- Dispatched with signature on delivery required.
Prints and editions follow the same tracked, insured standard scaled to their value, and may be fulfilled through platform-managed print-on-demand where offered.
2. Timelines
- Sellers dispatch within the handling time stated on the listing after a sale is confirmed.
- Estimated delivery times are shown at checkout and depend on origin, destination, and carrier.
- International shipments and customs clearance can add time beyond the carrier's estimate.
- Tracking is provided once the work is dispatched, and you can follow it from your order.
3. International customs and duties
- Because artists ship from many countries, international orders may attract customs duties, import taxes, or fees in the destination country.
- Unless stated otherwise at checkout, the buyer is responsible for any import duties, taxes, and customs fees.
- Required customs documentation and declared value are completed accurately by the seller; works must not be under-declared.
- Some destinations may be restricted or unavailable; any such restriction is shown before checkout where known.
4. Signature on delivery and fund release
Signature on delivery is both a delivery safeguard and the trigger for releasing held funds. On confirmed delivery — normally the recorded signature — the seller’s payout is released from the fund hold, subject to any open dispute. This is described in the Commission & Payout Schedule.
5. Damage, loss, and returns
If a work arrives damaged or does not arrive, open a dispute promptly so the funds remain held while it is reviewed; properly insured, signature-tracked shipping is what makes these claims resolvable. Returns, including who pays return shipping, are governed by the Returns & Refunds Policy.
